1. The most common corrosion of the mold is caused by the decomposition products (gas, residue) of the molding material. In order to prevent the mold from rusting, the most widely used method is to chrome-plate the mold cavity, but the chrome-plating cannot fully solve the problem, because the decomposition product also corrodes the deep part of the pin hole. And these places are exactly the places that cannot be plated.
2. When the mold is cooled below the moisture resurgence point, the moisture in the air will regain moisture on the surface of the mold and produce water droplets, which will cause rust.
Solve the problem of mold rust;
1. Short-term; gently wipe the surface of the mold cavity with a cloth. Fully dry the molding material and lower the barrel temperature to prevent material decomposition. When molding is temporarily stopped, spray rust inhibitor on the mold cavity and then close the mold.
2. Long-term; turning the product material into a decomposition product that will not corrode the mold. Materials that are easily decomposed include PVC, POM, EVA, PC and foam materials. Because the decomposition products have a corrosive effect on the mold, if the plastic raw material cannot be changed, the mold should be chromium plated. When the mold is out of use for a long time, apply a layer of butter to the exterior and movable parts of the mold.
