Methods to Reduce Waste in 2K Mold
Optimize Material Compatibility Selection
2K Mold offers greater flexibility in material selection, allowing for precise matching of two plastic materials with different properties based on product functional requirements. Through proper matching, molding defects caused by poor material compatibility can be avoided, reducing material waste. For example, for complex structural products, priority is given to material combinations with good adhesion, improving the success rate of first-time molding and reducing waste from the source.
Employ an Integrated Lubrication Solution
2K Mold is equipped with a professional integrated lubrication and maintenance solution. High-efficiency heavy-duty grease is used for heavy-duty parts such as mold guide pillars and bushings, achieving low-friction, shear-resistant, and long-lasting lubrication. This is combined with a no-wash rust inhibitor for full-process maintenance. This significantly reduces ejector pin damage, mold wear, and other problems, lowering the frequency of mold repair, extending mold life, and reducing defective product losses due to mold failure.
Precisely Control the Molding Process
Strict control is maintained over the two injection molding process parameters of 2K Mold. The second injection is performed while the product is still heated after the first injection, precisely controlling parameters such as temperature, pressure, and injection speed. To ensure perfect fusion of the two materials, avoid molding defects such as delamination, bubbles, and material shortages, improve product yield, and reduce material and product losses due to process errors.
Implement end-to-end quality control
Establish a comprehensive quality control system for 2K Mold production, setting up multiple quality checkpoints from raw material inspection upon arrival to product inspection after each injection molding. Promptly identify material defects, minor mold damage, and process deviations, and take corrective measures in advance to avoid batch defects and minimize various losses during production.
